2022 making way for 2023

New Year’s Eve Numerals in Times Square

One of my favorite times to visit Times Square is a couple of weeks before the New Year to see the New Year’s Eve Numerals on the ground before they are hoisted all the way up to their perch under the Times Square Ball. There is a celebatory air about them, as there is of disbelief that another year is coming to an end.

Here is 2023 all ready to ring in the New Year already –

Here is my attempt at making it seem like 2022 is making way for 2023!

The last couple of years have seen these numerals on tour so they show up like you see above, and attached to the advertiser which in this case in Kia.

The pictures above reflect an Instagram vs Reality kind of scenario, with Instagram above and reality below!

This numerals were placed right next to the Make a Wish confetti section as Times Square readies itself for NYE.

The 2022 New Year’s Eve Numerals were the first time I recall them showing up in this format, advertiser and all.

My favorites though were before this whole advertiser concept kicked in, and just the last two numbers used to be on display in Times Square as you can see in the pictures below. Just felt like the numerals used to be more accessible and authentic in so many ways, and not all covered up or competing for attention with Kia. And yes, it was snowing like crazy in 2020, and even crazier that I was in Times Square so I would not miss the NYE Numerals on the ground.
