Voyage – The 2023 Fleurs de Villes Event at Hudson Yards

Floral Mannequins in the corridors of the Shops at Hudson Yards for Fleur De Villes

Fall is the season for the annual Fleurs de Villes event at Hudson Yards, which is a floral extravaganza in the heart of New York City.  In 2023, the theme of the event is Voyage, and it is a journey through some of the most well known global destinations in the world as expressed through 15 floral mannequins that are over 10 feet tall each. The flowers and accessories used to represent each of the countries and their cultures are truly exquisite, varied, skillful and thoughtful in their representation.

Spanning from Brazil to India and China, the floral mannequins are all spectacular installations that celebrate the cultures, people, and landscapes of various destinations.  Located at The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards, the event runs from 6th to 15th October, 2023, and is open to the public in the heart of Hudson Yards.

I had the opportunity to visit the 2022 exhibit titled Femmes which celebrated Significant Women through the ages, and the 2023 event is a worthy successor with it celebrating global countries and their cultures. It is a great continuation to all the great floral celebrations in New York City, including the Fifth Avenue Blooms, Easter Parade, the L.E.A.F. Flower Show and Macy’s Flower Show among others.

Fleurs de Villes Voyage is a curated floral show featuring over 10 feet tall floral mannequins that showcase a cultural journey of storytelling. Each floral sculpture is truly a feast for the senses, and a remarkable interpretation of the dresses of the countries they represent. From the intricate floral headdresses to the delicate flower arrangements that adorned the mannequins’ dresses, it was amazing to see how every detail was carefully crafted to create a stunning visual experience.
