2023 Fifth Avenue Blooms

View through arches in 2023 Fifth Avenue Blooms

Fifth Avenue in New York City is one of the most iconic streets in the world, known for its high-end shopping and historical landmarks such as St Patrick’s Cathedral and Rockefeller Center. For the last few years, it has been transforming into a breathtaking oasis to celebrate spring in the month of May.

For the second year in a row, the Fifth Avenue Association has partnered with Van Cleef & Arpels, a luxury jewelry brand that has its store on 5th Ave, to bring the 2023 Fifth Avenue Blooms to life. This year, the event features 10 floral installations designed by Charlotte Gastaut, with arches, benches, and live flowers lining the sidewalks from 50th Street to 59th Street from May 1st to May 31st, 2023.

2023 Fifth Avenue Blooms Installations

For the 2023 Fifth Avenue Blooms, the artist Charlotte Gastaut drew inspiration from the lightness and warm breeze of spring to bring her colorful storybook to life. Her installations primarily use colors from the natural world, capturing the freshness of early spring and cherry blossoms with vibrant greens and pinks that gradually expand to include the full spectrum of the rainbow. In May 2023, her illustrations can be seen adorning the New York flagship boutique and the Fifth Avenue sidewalk, inviting visitors into her blooming universe.

It is really fun to walk through the ten colorful sculptures lining the avenue, each of which is accessorized and complemented by live flowers. The sculptures are made from a variety of materials, including metal and fabric, and range in size from small to large. In addition to the sculptures and live flowers, the arches have a playful and interactive element with benches and arches.

Even the Van Cleef & Arpels store on Fifth Avenue has been transformed into a floral oasis in May.
