Lego City has a tour bus, and it visited New York City for a day to give Lego fans a chance to play games and win prizes in a bus that was Lego inspired all the way through, including the floor that looked like a giant Lego brick. I was lucky enough to catch it on its one day visit to NYC where the Lego City Bus was parked right across its flagship store on Fifth Avenue with St Patrick’s Cathedral as a backdrop. One side of the bus was all windows, and it was really cool to be able to experience it on the streets of New York City from 11am to 7pm.
Lego Bus
The Lego Bus, which was in NYC for a day, was all about giving Lego fans a chance to play some games and interact with all things Lego. The theme was Your City No Limits, which could be seen on all sides of the bus.
The characters featured on the bus are:
- Mech Max, the mechanic that fixes and improves rides
- Ricky Rocket, who is a Vlogger and stunt racer
- Go-To Gary, everyone’s go to guy for the news and scoop about everything
- Fearless Fi, the Stuntz announcer
Lego Bus: Games and Activities
The Lego Bus had made creative use of the space inside the bus with a ton of activities and prizes to be won! The attention to detail was amazing, and the floor looked like a giant Lego brick.
Ring Toss Game
The first activity in the Lego City Bus was a ring toss game.
Photo Op
Next up was this photo op, where the team at the bus was only too happy to take pictures with your phone with a backdrop starring Mech Max, Ricky Rocket, Go-To Gary and Fearless Fi.
Lego City Characters
Next to the photo op was a display case of Lego City characters and a Lego Bus, which were for display only in the Lego bus, but could be bought at the Lego store across Fifth Avenue.
Lego 2K Drive
The last section was a set of screens where visitors could play Lego 2K Drive with the Lego staff cheering you on.
Prizes
I won this fabulous Lego themed bottle as a prize, and even got 2K stickers and a Sports Illustrated Kids as giveaways before leaving.
Lego City Sets
Lego City Sets were available for purchase right across Fifth Avenue at the Flagship Store, which more often than not has a line to get in on most days.
Final Thoughts on the Lego City Bus
The Lego City Bus was a great opprotunity for Lego fans of all ages to interact with Lego staff in a Lego themed bus, with lots of interactive games and activities with prizes to be won. I am really happy to have bumped into it on Fifth Avenue on my way to and fro from work, especially since it was a one day only event in NYC. It is wonderful to see all the events Lego organizes near their flagship store in New York, such as the Lego Fortnite launch event at Rockefeller Center.
