There was an epic LEGO Fortnite event at Rockefeller Center in New York City over the weekend. Positioned within sight of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, the event drew in crowds of fans eager to see the latest offerings from the collaboration between the LEGO Group and Epic Games. The event featured a number of exciting photo ops and displays, including a giant Llama installation that was a big draw.
The LEGO Fortnite game has been getting a lot of attention for bringing the imaginative world of LEGO into the popular game Fortnite, incorporating iconic minifigures and LEGO Style Outfits, as well as bricks and elements from the LEGO Group.
LEGO Fortnite Event Overview
The LEGO Fortnite event at Rockefeller Center is a celebration of the collaboration between LEGO and Epic Games, and a chance to introduce attendees to the all things Fortnite. It provided an opportunity to collect a poster and follow the instructions to build a supply llama at home so you can defend it.
The event is located at Rockefeller Center, which is one of New York’s most iconic landmarks. The venue is home to the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and Ice Skating Rink. The LEGO Fortnite event’s location in the South Plaza of Rockefeller Center, near the 50th Street entrance is within sight of the famous Christmas Tree. The event is free to attend and open to the public, and within a block of the LEGO flagship store on Fifth Avenue.
LEGO Fortnite Event Pictures
The centerpiece of the Fortnite Event is the giant Supply Llama which stands at 12 ft tall and features 234,623 LEGO bricks. There was a line to take pictures with this given the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in the background.
The adventure is building at the LEGO fortnight adventure, with Step 1 being to watch the LEGO Fortnite trainer to spark creativity and inspire new ideas, and Step 2 being to discover biomes and meet characters in the valley of uncharted lands.
Fans got to walk through and take pictures in a LEGO Fortnite backdrop, which was in high demand.
There were lots of little sections on either side to meet the characters and take pictures.
All in all it was a wonderful celebration of the launch of LEGO Fortnite in New York City, where LEGO does amazing events like the LEGO City tour bus that was at Rockefeller Center recently as well.
