Blast from the Past

Vintage New York

The walk to work yesterday was definitely one of a kind as the streets around Radio City and Rockefeller Center were transformed for a period movie or show. I tried to look online and found a reference to Tom Holland filming his show Crowded Room around there, but have no way of being sure about this. Regardless, it was very cool to experience!

The production crew kept trying to move people along, but I did manage to get some pictures of some of the cars on the street, a newsstand, and a coffee cart, all making me nostalgic for what looked like a New York from the Mad Men era.

Here are some of the cars that were all on the same block –

The newsstand was a definite period piece, magazines and all –

Last but not least there was a coffee cart, with prices that I could get used to being pasted on it to make it authentic to days long gone by –

We were not even given a chance to take pictures where it looked like the shooting was going on under a lot of umbrellas in the skating rink, but all in all even the streets made for a very memorable experience.

Then again, this was a very different experience from getting to see a lot of mini cars on the High Line!
