Wedding Proposal in Long Island City
Walking along the Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City this Sunday, I spotted a sign that said Marry Me in a distance with the New York skyline as a backdrop. Curiousity got the better of me of course, and I walked towards it to see a happy couple completely engrossed in each other walk past me, which at least meant I was not intruding on anymore’s special moment. So of course I went on to document the elaborate setting for this marriage proposal as it was being dismantled by a team of 3-4 people. Timing as they say is everything as I would have missed this had I walked past even 5 minutes later.
The New York skyline was a spectacular backdrop for this proposal, though it was a very public setting with not much privacy given everyone at Gantry State Plaza Park was in some way part of this very special moment for what hopefully was a happy couple for the ever after.
I love that just a walk in the park – quite literally – turned into a memorable evening with this.
