Celebrating Argentina’s World Cup Win in New York

The World Cup finals are being called the greatest of all time, as is Messi after a brilliant World Cup win today. I was glued to the TV like everyone else I know right till the end of the match!

The celebration of Argentina’s brilliant win has been continuing on the streets of New York with honking cars, flags flying high and draped around fans all over.

I did realize the Times Square was going to become a meeting ground for all the fans, and I am so glad to have experienced the big celebration there! I encountered people celebrating on their way to Times Square, and I could not even make my way to Duffy Square as the streets were just filled with people that were euphoric after the win. Here is what it was like on my walk there –

Getting there was just something else, with Times Square just becoming more and more crowded as the minutes went by.

All in all I am really happy to have walked to Times Square on a whim to experience the joyful World Cup celebrations of Argentina – and Messi – fans in NYC.
