BAM

Brooklyn Academy of Music

This weekend I got to visit two of my favorite performance venues, Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Park Avenue Armory.

BAM is a real treat to visit for any performance, and yesterday was especially special to watch the English National Ballet’s production of Giselle directed by Akram Khan. I don’t intend to do reviews in my blog, but this was one spectacular show!

Watching it at the Howard Gilman Opera House made it even more special. It is a Beaux Arts space with design and detail built everywhere you look, and the ceiling is my favorite.

This does seem really far if you are in Manhattan for a show, but it is well connected by subway, and definitely worth a visit if you are able to plan a show at the many performance spaces at BAM.
