Never Forget

Paying Tribute on 9/11

I have lived in New York to have been in Manhattan on 9/11, which was 21 years ago today, and it is one of the days that I have made it a personal tradition to visit the World Trade Center memorial, usually after work, to pay tribute to all that we lost in 2001.

This year I happen to be traveling on 9/11, so this once I am paying a virtual visit to WTC through some of the pictures I have taken at the World Trade Center on 9/11 over the years.

Here are some of the pictures by day:

By Dusk when the iconic blue lights start to become visible:

By Night where the blue lights representing the two towers that were lost are visible from near and far:

I love the years that I come across bagpipers paying tribute, either as an organized band or just gathering in smaller groups around the memorial sites –

The subway entrance I use to get here still retains a doorway from the original World Trade Center subway station.

I am not in New York today, but this is a day I will Never Forget.
